Uzbekistan’s GDP reaches 24.167trln soums in 1H

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan made up 24.167 trillion soums in January-June 2010, or grew by 8% year-on-year, the report of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The industrial output of the country rose by 8% and made up 15.441 trillion soums. In the reporting period, Uzbekistan produced consumer goods for 4.828 trillion soums, which grew by 11.8% year-on-year.

Agriculture output grew by 6.9% year-on-year to 6.081 trillion soums in the reporting period. Investments into fixed capital reached 7.099 trillion soums or increased by 4.8% year-on-year.

Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan in the reporting period made up 9.588 trillion soums, or increased by 10.3% year-on-year.

The volume of paid services, rendered to population of Uzbekistan in January-June 2010, comprised 3.39 trilion soums, which is up 12%.

Foreign trade of Uzbekistan decreased by 0.8% year-on-year and made up US$9.825 billion. At the same time, the exports of Uzbekistan rose by 14.3% to US$6.185 billion. Imports fell by 18.9% to US$3.639 billion.
