Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan organized a video conference between the leadership of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and representatives of the World Islamic Association and Development of Saudi Arabia, Dunyo news agency reported.

The purpose of the negotiations is to discuss issues of humanitarian, financial, and technical support in the fields of education and healthcare for the Aral Sea region, as well as conducting heart surgeries by Saudi surgeons on patients in Tashkent and Namangan.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Farrukh Toshpulatov, Advisor to the Secretary-General of the World Islamic Association Iyman Falemban, as well as Uzbek diplomats.

During the negotiations, it was noted that cooperation between the two states is expanding, and the number of mutual visits at various levels is increasing.

Stating that the World Islamic Association is interested in comprehensive strengthening and rapid development of cooperative relations with Uzbekistan, the Saudi side expressed readiness to establish close cooperation with Uzbek partners in the relevant direction. They also expressed readiness to conduct heart surgeries, orthopedic, and ophthalmological surgeries in our country by Saudi surgeons.

In particular, the Saudi side reported that in the first stage, they are ready to perform heart surgeries for more than 100 patients in need in Tashkent and Namangan.

Participants from representatives of republican specialized surgical and cardiological scientific and practical medical centers, the National Children's Medical Center, the Namangan Regional Health Department, and the Namangan branch of the Republican Specialized Cardiological Scientific and Practical Medical Center presented complete information about their activities and capabilities.

Following the negotiations, agreements were reached to maintain a dialogue on the specified issues, provide the Saudi side with information about the location and timing of surgeries in Uzbekistan, patients, and conditions.
