Population consumes services for 4.47 trln soums in 2008
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of paid services rendered to population in 2008 comprised 4.474 trillion soums or grew by 20.6% year-on-year.

Official sector rendered the main part of paid services to population (62.9%). The volume of services rendered by official sector made up 2.814 trillion soums, which is 22.3%. more compared to 2007.

The share of individual entrepreneurs in the volume of paid services rendered to population increased by 17.8% and reached 1.66 trillion soums. The share of this sector in the total volume of paid services was 37.1% in 2008.

The share of the non-state sector in the total volume of paid services rendered to population was 79.5% in the reporting period (in 2007 - 79.1%).

The share of personal services in the total volume of paid services was 11.3% or 506.3 billion soums. Their real volume has exceeded the level of 2007 by 21.5%. The share of services rendered by individual entrepreneurs in the personal services sector was 89.9%. The volume of services rendered by this sector was 455.2 billion soums or up 26% year-on-year.

In 2008, the total volume of market services by all kinds of activity was 20.082 trillion soums, including 5.388 trillion soums of the rural area, or 26/8% of the total volume of rendered services. In comparison with 2007, the real increase of services was 21.3%.

The high growth rates were achieved in the following services: communication and information, including services of information and resource centers - 40.1%, repair of cars and other equipment - 39/2%, financial, including microcredit services - 32.2%, personal - 29%, trade and catering - 26.8%.

The following services prevailed in the structure of services: transport (33.3% of total services), trade and catering (17.3%), communal (13.7%), financial, including microcredit services (7.1%), communication and information, including services of information and resource centers (6.9%).
