Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A pilot project to introduce an electronic queue management system for cargo transportation at the "Kyzyl-Kiya-Autodorozhny" border checkpoint between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan has been launched, according to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan.

The goal of implementing the electronic queue at the "Kyzyl-Kiya-Autodorozhny" checkpoint is to speed up the border crossing process, reduce logistics costs, and improve conditions for participants in foreign economic activities. The system is expected to simplify trade operations and enhance the efficiency of the border crossing point.

The project is being implemented as part of the Concept for the Development of the Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2024. It aims to accelerate border crossing processes, reduce logistics costs, and improve conditions for foreign economic activity. The pilot system will operate from 1 November to 15 December 2024.

Supported by the International Trade Center’s Ready4Trade Central Asia project and funded by the European Union, the initiative focuses on introducing modern technologies to improve the performance of border crossing points and address issues of long queues and delays in cargo transportation. These problems pose significant obstacles to trade in the region, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses.
