Pilgrims experience difficulties returning to their homeland

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Information is being spread on social networks about the difficulties faced by pilgrims from Uzbekistan who came to Mecca and Medina to perform Umrah. Pilgrims experience difficulties returning to their homeland.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Jeddah emphasized that the trips were organized by private travel companies, and problems arose due to technical failures in organizing air services and lack of experience among travel companies.

Currently, together with the Ministry of Transport and other departments of Uzbekistan, all necessary measures are being taken to return compatriots to their homeland.

A schedule of additional flights has been drawn up. By 4 February 2024, some of the pilgrims have already been returned, the rest will be transported to Uzbekistan shortly.

The Consulate General and Embassy of Uzbekistan took control of the situation, providing compatriots with the necessary consular, legal and other assistance.
