In 2008 the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve and UNESCO implemented a project of digitization of the collection of glass negatives, reflecting the history, architecture, culture and life style of Uzbekistan at the turn of 19th-20th centuries (over 18 thousand copies).
The Tashkent House of Photography opened a unique photo exhibition “Digitized History: A Memoir”, where previously unpublished pictures were displayed thanks to the modern technologies.
Pictures show the history of the country in persons: a young potter at work, musical ensemble, a girl working in the lab, a couple dressed in national clothes. It is a kaleidoscope of human lives, a time travel…
You still have time to see it with your own eyes. The exhibition will last until October 5.
