The event presented over 80 works of Tashkent photographers dedicated to children with autism. It was organized by Republican Public Children Fund Sen Yolg’iz Emassan and Republican Center for Social Adaptation of Children.
The images show joy, sorrow, pain, kindness and sincerity of children. In the images, the children are laughing, playing and enjoying life.
The exhibition was opened by permanent representative of Uzbekistan at UNESCO and chairperson of trustee fund of Sen Yolg`iz Emassan Republican Center for Social Adaptation of Children Lola Karimova-Tillayeva. She noted that number of people with autism is growing and low level of awareness about disease and ways of its diagnosis is reason for that. She noted that early diagnosis of autism would help to adapt children to society, which will result in realization of their aspirations and potentials.
Uzbekistan should carry out reforms in diagnosis and rehabilitation of autism. It is necessary to carry out serious work on revealing children with autism.
In many cases, the families with children, suffering from autism, need psychological, financial and social support. So, it is necessary to develop concept on support of such families. All interested state and public bodes should be attracted to this process, as well as raise awareness of population.
