Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the initiative of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, preparatory work was held on organizing a photo exhibition in the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta.

The purpose of the exhibition is to display the modern life of the Republic of Uzbekistan and development processes with the help of photographic images made by foreign citizens.

On 7 February 2019, a solemn opening ceremony of the photo exhibition took place in Jakarta. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia, the expert community, the clergy, the tourism business.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Indonesia and the Ambassador for promotion of the tourist brand of Uzbekistan in Indonesia, the rector of the University “Gunadarma”, Professor E.Sh.Marghianti.

They expressed their sincere appreciation to the partners from Indonesia and Uzbekistan in conducting "such an important event for deepening the spiritual and cultural interaction between our peoples."

A welcoming speech was made by the representative of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Ambassador Margianti. Also sounded the national anthems of Uzbekistan and Indonesia. As Indonesian experts emphasized, academic and cultural ties have always been and remain an important component of true friendship and mutual respect between our peoples.

In the second part of the ceremony, a seminar was held, in which representatives of expert circles and clergy spoke. Informational brochures and magazines that reveal various aspects of the spiritual and cultural life of Uzbekistan were also distributed to the participants of the event.

In the pavilion of the photo exhibition there are exhibits, in which quality photographs of Indonesian travelers taken in 2018 will be displayed.
