Economy21/02/2008Permmetal opens daughter companies in Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan
The OJSC informed in Uzbekistan the Company to create TashkentMetall and in Azerbaijan – BakuMetall. Their only founder is Permmetal OJSC. It is supposed to invest US$2 million to create the companies. The companies will be founded at the Permmetal own expense and loans of bank-partners.
“In two months since launching activity the companies in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have to reach a US$2 million turnover a month. The purpose is to take 35% of metal sales market in the countries,” was said in the press-release.
TashkentMetall and BakuMetall are going to conclude in the nearest time agreements with large metal-roll consumers – CIS machine building factories.
“The main BakuMetall clients in Azerbaijan are petrochemical enterprises especially Azneftkimyamash that includes 14 industrial enterprises and 4 scientific-research and project institutes,” was said in the press-release.
In Uzbekistan TashkentMetall plans to deliver metal products to the largest region’s enterprises such as Uzbekkhimmash, Tashkent Tractor Factory, and Uzoakhtamash.
In Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan the Company is going to implement its strategy on providing machine building factories metal production. Permmetal OJSC General Director Gregory Menshikov said the strategy would allow satisfying all local companies’ needs. “Within new strategy we reconstructed our range stencil to meet machine building enterprises’ demands and received clients’ response. I think 70-80% of sales in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will fall to machine building enterprises,” G.Menshikov said.
Enterprises founded by Permmetal will be provided metal production of partners the company already works with. Because of sales growth Permmetal cooperation with metal suppliers is planned to be expanded.
Permmetal OJSC was founded in 1925. The Company is the largest metal trader of Permian region. Permmetal delivers to its customers more than 7,000 names of metal production purchased by more than 9,000 consumers. The Company’s partners are the largest Russian metal producers such as Magnitogorsk Metallurgical works, Estar Firm, Uralturbostal Firm etc.
