Permission of customs service to retrieve pledge abolished
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan introduced changes to instruction on payments of customs fees in installments and payment delays.

The presidential decree "On measures on cardinal decreasing statistics, tax, financial reporting, licensed types of activities and permission procedures" abolished procedure on receiving permission to management of pledge object, which ensure payment of customs payments, Norma.uz said.

The same changes were introduced to the instruction on payments of customs fees in installments and payment delays. The instruction said that after payment of customs payments and interests, customs bodies on demand of the other side should return pledged property. Earlier, depositor could return pledge object only with permission of customs body.

According to the legislation, goods, currency, securities and vehicles can be object of pledge. But, customs bodies does not accept electricity, buildings, enterprises, pledge property, property rights, transport vehicles and goods, banned to import in Uzbekistan, and others.

The document came into force on 20 December 2012.
