The Ministry noted that the Obid Yunusov created unique images and made a worthy contribution to development of theater and cinema in Uzbekistan.

Obid Yunusov was born in Tashkent in 1934. In 1956, he graduated from the actors department of the Tashkent Theatre and Art Institute. Until 1996, he worked at the Uzbek State Academic Drama Theatre named after Hamza (now the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theatre), where he performed over 100 roles.

Obid Yunusov is known for roles in dozens of movies, he participated in radio and television drama, as well as dubbing over more than one thousand films. In 1987, Obid Yunusov was awarded with the honorary title of People’s Artist of Uzbekistan.
