Peking University presents the culture, education and tourism of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A festive event on the occasion of Navruz was held at Peking University, Dunyo news agency reports.

Professors and teachers of the university who took part in the event congratulated all participants on the holiday and introduced them to the activities of the university and its cooperation in the field of education with higher educational institutions of Central Asian countries.

The festival was attended by representatives of the diplomatic missions of Central Asian countries in Beijing, journalists and bloggers, as well as more than 300 Central Asian and Chinese students studying at this university.

Speaking at the event, representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan reported that the Navruz holiday was included by UNESCO in the list of intangible cultural heritage in 2009 as an integral part of the cultural heritage of humanity. On 19 February 2010, at the 64th session of the UN General Assembly, 21 March was declared International Nowruz Day.

Director of the Department of International Relations of the China International Youth Exchange Center, Liu Xin, emphasized that the parties pay great attention to strengthening exchange and cooperation between higher educational institutions, and highly appreciated the results of the Uzbek-Chinese educational forum, held on 22 January of this year in Beijing with the participation of more than 100 universities.

Diplomats of our country and compatriot students of this university presented the cultural and tourism potential of Uzbekistan as part of the festive event. They organized the national stand of Uzbekistan. The presentation emphasized that in recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and China has been expanding in the fields of education, science, culture, public diplomacy, sports and tourism, and the friendly exchange of educational and educational institutions, creative groups and youth has been strengthened.
