Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ulugbek Inoyatov, leader of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (PDPU), was nominated as a presidential candidate in early elections on 9 July.

An extraordinary plenum of the central council of the party on 12 May 2023 adopted a decision.

Ulugbek Inoyatov led the party in the summer of 2019, having previously worked as the rector of Namangan State University and the Minister of Public Education.

Earlier, the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan nominated a presidential candidate from its party.

In the 2021 presidential election, the PDPU candidate was the deputy chairman of the party, Maksuda Varisova.
