Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan Airports has presented the key performance indicators for the first half of 2024, demonstrating significant growth across all categories.
During the 6 months, there were 53,303 flights to/from airports in the republic, including 16,319 domestic flights and 36,984 international flights. Compared to the same period of last year, this marks a 37% increase.
From January to June inclusive, Uzbekistan airports served 6,369,384 passengers. This includes 1,263,304 passengers on domestic flights and 5,106,080 on international flights. The growth compared to the same period in 2023 amounted to 36%.
In addition, 40,269 tons of cargo and mail were handled in the first half of 2024, which is 18% higher than last year’s figures.
Currently, passenger flights operate on 84 routes to/from Uzbekistan airports, which is 15% more than the same period of last year. This increase is attributed to attracting new airlines and launching several new routes simultaneously. These include LOT Polish Airlines, which started Warsaw – Tashkent – Warsaw flights from 14 March, Qatar Airways, connecting Doha and Tashkent with direct flights from 2 June, and Turkish AJet, commencing Ankara – Tashkent – Ankara flights from 3 June. Additionally, in May, Spanish World2Fly initiated charter flights from Madrid to Tashkent and Urgench. Currently, "Uzbekistan Airports" collaborates with 45 airlines.
