Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Due to heat and increased loads on the networks, a decision has been made to partially restrict the supply of electricity to enterprises in Rostov region of Russia. This was reported by the region’s governor, Vasily Golubev, in his Telegram channel, according to Gazeta.ru.
Golubev stated that authorities have decided to partially limit the supply of electricity to local enterprises, but these restrictions will not affect their operations.
The governor explained that the most challenging situation currently exists in the Neklinovsky District and the city of Taganrog, where excessive loads have led to power line failures.
"Restoration work is underway on several sections. Energy specialists promise to complete them by the end of today," Golubev wrote.
Referring to experts’ assessments, the governor noted that the risks of overload and equipment failure remain significant. Currently, the priority for energy workers is to prevent more serious emergency situations.
On 6 July, it was reported that a schedule of temporary power consumption cuts was introduced in the Rostov Region. The reason behind this was record-breaking heat up to +39°C and above, which has caused increased strain on electrical equipment and networks, particularly during daylight hours.
Earlier, Russians were warned about new heat records.
