The concert was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Uzbek-Israeli diplomatic relations. The event was organized by the Embassy of Israel in Tashkent at the support of the Israeli Cultural Center in Tashkent, Jewish agency “Sokhnut”, branch of Joint in Uzbekistan and Bartec.
Ambassador of Israel to Uzbekistan Hillel Neuman said that the Israeli side wanted to present something interest to the Uzbek public, so large number of people was able to familiarize with Israeli culture. He said Uzbekistan’s dance art is in high level and the Israeli side selected the Panov Ballet Theatre, which presents modern ballet worldwide.
The Uzbek audience accepted fragments of classic and modern plays with warm welcome. Israeli theatre presented fragments from such plays as “Romeo and Juliette from Jerusalem”, “La Corsair”, “Carmen”, “War and Peace”, etc.
The Panov Ballet Theatre displays modern choreographic art around the globe: Israel, Germany, Holland, France, Russia, USA, Poland, etc. More than 200 impressive performances annually throughout Israel and worldwide have made the group world famous.
The repertoire currently includes some of Panov’s classic ballets, as well as new works created by him for the Company. The performances by Valery Panov have acclaimed world recognition and also introduce the spectator to the magic world of dance.
