Panoramas of Uzbekistan appeared on Yandex.Maps

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Yandex has published panoramas of Uzbekistan. Panoramic car - a car with special photo equipment on the roof - visited the republic this fall. It photographed the streets and sights of Tashkent, Bukhara, Nukus, Samarkand, Khiva and Shakhrisabz, and also made a trip to Karakalpakstan: he photographed the Ustyurt plateau, salt marshes on the Aral Sea and ancient settlements on the banks of the Amu Darya. Panoramas are available on Yandex. Maps - anyone can go for a virtual walk to these places.

Panoramas will help locals plan a trip to an unfamiliar area, and tourists - better prepare for the trip. Thanks to the pictures, you can understand how the traffic works at difficult junctions, outline landmarks and know in advance what the sights look like: for example, the Gur-Emir mausoleum in Samarkand, the Ark citadel in Bukhara or the old Khiva caravanserai.

“We shot panoramas from October to November when there is no sweltering heat and the light in the autumn is soft,” says Yevgeny Lukyanchikov, Yandex Regional Director for Uzbekistan. - The shooting was preceded by serious preparation. The country is rich in ancient monuments and unique landscapes, and we wanted the panoramas to cover as many remarkable places as possible. Filming would not have been possible without the assistance of the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan - we are grateful to them for their help with the route and the organization of the trip. The project was also supported by the Ministry of Finance. ”

“Yandex.Maps were the first of the major geographic information services to add street panoramas to cities in Uzbekistan,” commented Ibrohim Barnaev, Deputy Head of the Office for Work with Entrepreneurs of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan. - In the pictures you can see the key attractions of the country, including objects from the UNESCO World Heritage List: Ichan-Kalu, the historical center of Shakhrisabz. The panoramas that are accessible from anywhere in the world will be a good help to anyone planning a trip to Uzbekistan. ”

During a trip to Uzbekistan, the Yandex film crew took almost 295 thousand photographs - of which more than 73 thousand circular panoramas were obtained. The total mileage of filming exceeds two thousand kilometers. In places where it is impossible to move around by car, the operators walked on foot, setting the camera on a tripod. In this way, for example, the halls of the I.V. Savitsky State Museum of Art in Nukus and the new Tashkent City park in Tashkent were photographed.
