Economy 01/08/2007 Pakistan and Uzbekistan to start joint venture
Lahore Provincial Minister for Industries, Muhammad Ajmal Cheema on Monday said investors of Pakistan and Uzbekistan will start a joint venture in the leather sector and the volume of trade between the two countries will rise in leather and other sectors.

Talking to a seven-member delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by Iskandar Attanof, Chairman Leather Association, the minister said Pakistan and Uzbekistan have historical and brotherly relations and these would be further cemented in near future.

He said the investors of Uzbekistan should come forward and avail of opportunities being given to foreign investors by Pakistan. He said Pakistan and Uzbekistan trade delegations would soon visit each other’s country and both would arrange a single country exhibition which would be very helpful for enhancing trade relations. He said Leather Association of Pakistan will soon pay a visit to Uzbekistan.
