The Uzbek side clinched the victory over Italian club thanks to goals of Izzatilla Abdullaev (20 minutes), Temir Hakimov (70) and Jamshid Boltaboev (86).

Despite victory, Pakhtakor could not advance to play-offs of tournament. According to the tournament rules, only winners of eight groups and four runner-ups with the best results advance to next stage.

Pakhtakor should advance to next round, but the organizers decided to give tickets to quarterfinals to Italian side Empoli. Both Pakhtakor and Empoli collected six points after three matches and have same goal difference +1 (Pakhakor – 5:4, Empoli – 4:3).
