Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first leg of the AFC Elite Champions League Round of 16 on 4 March, Pakhtakor secured a narrow victory over Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al-Hilal.

The match, held at Jar Stadium, ended 1-0 in favor of the Tashkent club, with Brazilian forward Flamarion scoring the only goal of the game.

Despite featuring star players such as Bono, Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinković-Savić, Rúben Neves, Malcom, and Salem Al-Dawsari, Al-Hilal was unable to break through Pakhtakor’s defense.

This win marks Pakhtakor’s first-ever victory against Al-Hilal. The two teams had previously met eight times, with five wins for the Saudi side and three draws.

The second leg will take place next week in Saudi Arabia.
