Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov has responded to criticism over the nearly 2 billion soums allocated for the organization of the Uzbek version of the TV show "The Voice."

During a press conference, the minister addressed ongoing reproaches regarding the allocation of this amount to the project. In response to the criticism, he emphasized the importance of the show in elevating Uzbekistan’s image on the international stage. Nazarbekov stated that if anyone considers the allocation of this sum a crime, he is ready to sell his house and return the money.

The minister also highlighted that the musical show "The Voice" is popular in 76 countries, and the fact that this project is being implemented in Uzbekistan draws attention to the country and increases its recognition.

According to Nazarbekov, the show showcases the talents of Uzbek performers, who are seen worldwide, and contributes to attracting artists from various countries, including Cuba, to Uzbekistan.

Previously, the Ministry of Culture’s decision to allocate 1.99 billion soums from the budget for the production of "The Voice" sparked widespread debate on social media.
