Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has appointed its first ambassador to Slovenia, Oybek Shakhavdinov, who also serves as the ambassador to Hungary and Croatia.
On 24 October 2024, Shakhavdinov presented copies of his credentials to Nataša Prah, head of the Diplomatic Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of Slovenia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
Notably, Shakhavdinov became Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Hungary, taking on his duties in March 2024. Previously, this position was combined with the responsibilities of the ambassador accredited to Austria.
Before his appointment, he headed the Department for Cooperation with European Countries and European Union Institutions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Additionally, Oybek Shakhavdinov is the first ambassador of Uzbekistan to Croatia, with his residence in Budapest.
