Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the official visit of the Georgian delegation led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to Tashkent, a meeting took place between Oybek Kasimov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Uzbekistan, and Shalva Gogoladze, Minister of Sports of Georgia. The event was also attended by Shahrullo Makhmudov, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of sports, including experience exchange, athlete training, and joint projects aimed at developing the Olympic movement in both countries. Particular attention was given to cooperation prospects within international sporting events.

Oybek Kasimov emphasized Uzbekistan's strong interest in strengthening sports ties with Georgia, highlighting the importance of such meetings in achieving shared goals. In response, Shalva Gogoladze expressed readiness for active collaboration and shared Georgia’s experience in developing sports infrastructure and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The visit of the Georgian delegation marked an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries not only in political and economic spheres but also in sports.
