Over 8 billion soums paid to citizens for supplying energy to the grid

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first quarter of 2025, a total of 12,746 individuals received subsidies from the State Budget amounting to 8.147 billion soums for solar energy generated and fed into the national power grid. This was reported by the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.

The largest payouts were recorded in the Khorezm region (2.6 billion soums), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (1.1 billion soums), and the city of Tashkent (585 million soums).

For reference, under the “Solar Home” program—active since 1 April 2023—the government provides a subsidy of 1,000 soums for each kilowatt-hour of electricity produced by private solar panels and delivered to the national grid in excess of the household's own consumption.
