Over 35,100 violations of licensing laws by drivers revealed in Jan-Sep
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Tax Committee, Main Department on Security of Traffic under the Ministry of Interior Ministry, Agency for Automobile and River Transport of Uzbekistan conducted 3,229 unannounced investigation in January-September 2012, directed at reveling cases of illegal transportation of passengers without license. Head of information-analytical group of the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport Sunnatilla Sagatov said.

Sunnatilla Sagatov added that in line with schedule, set by the Council on coordination of activities of controlling bodies inspected activities of 30 business entities and some violations were revealed.

He said that materials of the inspection were handed over to tax bodies to adopt necessary measures against violators.

Sunnatilla Sagatov added that the agency in cooperation with traffic safety services and tax bodies conducted 3,229 unannounced investigations to reveal violation of licensing laws by the vehicle owners.

The materials, collected in the result of the investigation, were handed over to tax bodies, he added.

The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On measures on ordering activities of taxis” on 18 May 2011. The resolution approved a regulation on single signs for taxis and requirements to their operation, which came into force on 1 January 2012.

The document is directed at introducing single technical policy in transportation of passengers, ordering activities of taxis, improving quality of services and security of passenger transportation.
