Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 3 August 2018, some 3,217 foreign citizens applied to the website E-VISA.GOV.UZ to obtain an electronic visa for entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov on his Facebook page said that 2,836 citizens of foreign countries received visas.
The e-visa.gov.uz system was launched on 15 July. Citizens, arriving in Uzbekistan for tourist purposes from countries for which a simplified procedure for issuing a visa is established, can use the system.
The application is considered within two working days. The electronic visa is issued for a single stay in the territory of Uzbekistan for a period of 30 days. It is valid for 90 days.
An electronic visa is sent to an e-mail address, when crossing the border, it is enough to submit a visa in paper or electronic form.
