Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Over 2307 people died from coronavirus in Ukraine in the past seven days. This is 22% more than a week earlier. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Igor Kuzin.

“Over the past week, COVID-19 claimed the lives of 2,307 people, which is 22% more than a week earlier,” said Igor Kuzin.

According to him, since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 52% of deaths among COVID patients have been in people over 70 years old. “Another 29% were recorded among Ukrainians aged 60-69,” said Igor Kuzin.

The sanitary doctor stressed that Ukraine is now witnessing a rapid spread of coronavirus disease. “Over the past week alone, more than 105 thousand new cases of the disease were detected, which is 11% more than a week earlier,” added Igor Kuzin.

He also said that Ukraine does not exclude the expansion of the red quarantine zone in the near future.
