Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov received the President of the OPEC Fund for International Development Abdulhamid Al-Khalifa.

During the meeting, issues of long-term cooperation and involvement of the private sector in the process of privatization of state-owned banks were discussed.

Issues of supporting the development of mortgage lending were also considered, including measures to increase the availability of mortgage loans for the population and attract investment through the Company for Refinancing Mortgage Loans of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, an agreement worth US$20 million was signed for the implementation of the project “Development of a network of private preschool educational institutions based on public-private partnership” in Uzbekistan.

This project is part of the development strategy of the new Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, approved by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The project provides the private sector with the opportunity to use preferential loans for the construction of preschool educational institutions.
