Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Rishtan district of Ferghana region, a car gas cylinder exploded, resulting in the death of a man.

According to the Department of Internal Affairs of Ferghana region, the incident occurred on 27 June in the central market of Rishtan district.

The driver left his Lacetti car in the parking lot and went to the market. At this time, a gas cylinder exploded in the car.

A citizen who was nearby was hit by the explosion and received serious injuries.

Despite the medical assistance provided, the victim died.

In this case, a criminal case was initiated under paragraph “a” of part 2 of Article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of fire safety rules resulting in the death of a person).

Law enforcement agencies are conducting a preliminary investigation.
