Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ninth Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) hosted a session titled “On the Path to Global Employer Choice: Transforming Talent and Culture.”
The event featured Asma Sheikh, Chief Human Resources Officer at AIIB, and Brian Carlo Ippolito, Senior Human Resources Specialist in the Talent Acquisition Department at AIIB.
The session discussed AIIB's bold step in rethinking what it means to be the best employer globally, as well as the Bank's comprehensive strategic roadmap for human resource management aimed at transforming its talent and cultural landscape by 2030. This multi-layered talent transformation strategy focuses on competitive total rewards, workplace culture and environment, as well as unique, proven career development initiatives.
Specific examples of AIIB's work were discussed, including talent acquisition programs such as the Young Talent program, global employer branding events, and competency assessment centers aimed at attracting and developing talented individuals.
Participants discussed significant cultural shifts that AIIB aims to achieve, from rethinking and promoting the Bank’s higher purpose and overall vision to revolutionary workplace culture changes through initiatives like Innovation and Culture Centers and cultural workshops.
In her speech, Asma Sheikh, Chief Human Resources Officer at AIIB, stated, “This is a very important milestone for us, as we complete a 10-year period, despite having lost three of those years due to COVID. We are catching up quite rapidly. Currently, we have about 600 employees, and we are growing at a very fast pace, adding around 100 or more people each year.”
In conclusion, participants emphasized that the goal of these initiatives is to drive meaningful change and position AIIB as a leader in global talent and cultural transformation.
