Omani company is interested in implementing joint projects in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abdusalom Khatamov met with the director of the state company Oman Flour Mills SAOG and the president of Atyab Investments Haysam al-Fanna. This was reported by Dunyo news agency.

Atyab Investments, incorporated in 1977 in Oman, is the first publicly traded food processing company in the country.

At the meeting, it was announced that Atyab Investments had invested US$2 million in the creation of a laboratory and training center in the Tashkent region for the international certification of food products exported from Uzbekistan.

The Omani businessman expressed his intention to participate in new projects in Uzbekistan and discussed the possibility of building a fruit and vegetable canning plant and supplying equipment for food packaging.

The company has expressed its readiness to allocate US$4 million for these projects and plans to send a delegation to Uzbekistan in March to discuss details of participation in new investment projects.
