Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- South Korea sees Central Asia as an important partner in the implementation of its new foreign policy strategy. This assessment was shared by the special rapporteur of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Korea Om Narin, speaking at the expert forum “Strategic dialogue Central Asia - Republic of Korea: prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation”, held on 11 December in Tashkent in a hybrid format.

“Central Asia is an important partner with which the South Korean government intends to closely cooperate in the implementation of its updated “State Security Strategy” in 2023, which formulates the main tasks and goals of Seoul’s foreign policy, and also identifies the main threats to the country’s interests,” - the Korean expert emphasized.

The expert forum, organized by the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in partnership with the Korean Center for International Regional Studies at the Hanguk University of Foreign Languages with the assistance of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is attended by leading experts and heads of think tanks, representatives of research and educational institutions of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea.
