Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An official welcome ceremony was held in the city of Samarkand for Prime Minister of the Italian Republic Giorgia Meloni, who arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.

An honor guard was lined up in front of the Congress Center.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and invited her to the podium.

The military band performed the national anthems of Uzbekistan and Italy. The two leaders reviewed the guard of honor and greeted members of their respective official delegations.

Following the ceremony, high-level talks commenced.
