Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek athlete Nurkhon Kurbonova won a gold medal at the Paralympic Games in Paris, competing in the women’s javelin throw in the F54 class for para athletics.
Kurbonova set a new world record with a javelin throw of 21.12 meters, bringing the 10th gold medal to the Uzbekistan delegation.
Notably, Kurbonova previously held the world record in this class, set at the World Championships in Japan earlier this year with a throw of 20.73 meters.
In addition to this achievement, Kurbonova had previously won a silver and bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
To date, Uzbekistan’s Paralympic team has secured a total of 24 medals, including 10 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze.
