The number of urban population made up 15.269 million and rural population – 14.605 million, or 51.1% and 48.9% respectively of the total number of population.
Births
In January-September 2012, the birth rate was 20.4 pro mil and decreased by 0.2 pro mil in comparison with the corresponding period of 2011 (20.6 pro mil).
Deaths
In the reporting period the death rate was 4.7 pro mil and increased by 0.1 pro mil in comparison with the corresponding period of 2011 (4.6 pro mil).
Out of the total number of the dead 62.4% died of cardiovascular diseases, 7.5% – neoplasms, 5.8% – respiratory diseases, 5.8% – accidents, poisonings and traumas, 5.6% – diseases of digestive organs.
According to the preliminary data, in January-September some 4,700 children died at the age under one year (in January-September 2011 – 4,900 children).
Out of the total number of children died at the age under one year, 47.9% died of states occurring in perinatal period, 34.9% – respiratory diseases, 6.8% – congenital anomalies, and 4.6% – infectious and parasitic diseases.
Marriages and divorces
In January-September 2012, some 189,300 marriages and 13,900 divorces were registered. There were 8.5 marriages (in January-September 2011 – 8.6) and 0.6 divorces (in January-September 2011 – 0.6) per 1000 population.
Migration
According to the preliminary data, number of immigrants was 127,900 persons in January-September 2012 and emigrants – 157,800 persons.
In January-September 2012, balance of migration was minus 29,900 persons versus minus 40,800 persons in the corresponding period of 2011.
