He stated that over 12 million people use internet services in Uzbekistan. Number of households with computers made up 37.4%. About 58.1% of households have access to internet.

It was underlined that development of broadband internet and mobile communication are priorities for development of ICT sphere in Uzbekistan.

In particular, mobile operators are planning to increase the number of their base stations to 6,000 units within the framework of the project on the development of mobile networks. The operators will develop 3G and 4G technologies.

In 2015-2017, Uzbekistan plans to build 6,100 km of broadband fiber-optic communication lines, of which 1,800 will be built in 2015.

Currently, five mobile operators - Ucell, Beeline, UMS, Uzmobile and Perfectum Mobile – are operating in Uzbekistan.
