Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the visit of the delegation of the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) to the United States of America, negotiations were held with the leadership of the World Bank, headed by the global director for social protection and employment, Iffat Sharrif.

Support for the plans of the Government of Uzbekistan to revise the social protection strategy with an emphasis on the family and local governments was emphasized.

The participation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the implementation of the “Global Accelerator for Job Creation and Strengthening Social Protection” initiative was highly noted. They expressed readiness to support the government in this direction.

The assistance of the World Bank head office in improving the social protection strategy of Uzbekistan, developing the “care economy” sector and professional social service, providing advisory assistance in adapting the republic’s social protection system to various factors were the main results of the meeting.

The management of the World Bank also confirmed its readiness to provide full support to the NASP both through technical assistance and through the implementation of the joint project “Innovative Social Protection System for the Integration of Vulnerable Groups of the Population” (INSON).
