Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 December 2023, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Nodir Ganiev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Tobias Billström.

According to Dunyo news agency, during the conversation, they noted the activation of bilateral relations in recent years. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden welcomed the opening of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Stockholm and expressed support for the new head of the diplomatic mission.

The parties also discussed issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Sweden in various areas, including mining industry, telecommunications, healthcare, innovative technologies, efficient use of water resources, and waste processing.

The meeting aimed to support the strengthening of Uzbek-Swedish cooperation. The parties expressed confidence that the third round of inter-diplomatic political consultations scheduled for 11 December in Stockholm would contribute to further development of mutually beneficial relations.

At the end of the meeting, the minister wished success to the Uzbekistan ambassador in his efforts to develop Uzbek-Swedish relations.
