Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Hatori Takashi has become a guest of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Uzbekistan. He was met by the NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov. During the conversation, issues such as the further development of friendly relations and the exchange of experience between the parties were discussed.
Oybek Kasimov expressed his joy that he is holding his first official meeting in 2023 with Mr. Takashi. The NOC Secretary General emphasized that Japan is a leading sports power not only on our continent, but throughout the world, noting that strengthening cooperation with such a country will serve the development of Uzbek sports. In addition, he said that before the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games, the NOC of Uzbekistan and the city of Maizuru implemented a number of projects on the basis of a memorandum of cooperation.
In turn, Hatori Takashi emphasized the achievements in the sports field of our country. In particular, he highly appreciated the result achieved by the domestic delegation at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Mr. Ambassador noted that during his short career in Uzbekistan, he explored many areas, including highly appreciating the capabilities of the Amirsoy Ski Complex and the Humo Arena Ice Palace.
During the conversation, a detailed exchange of views was also held on the wide use of Japan's experience in preparation for major sports competitions, in particular, for the Asian Youth Games "Tashkent-2025", cooperation in preparation for the main continental starts of the four-year period of 2026 in the Japanese cities of Aichi and Nagoya, holding joint training camps between National teams.
