Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The National Olympic Committee, together with the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, continues to consider projects for the preparation of national teams for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The plans for the preparation of the Shooting Sports Federation of Uzbekistan, drawn up for 2021-2024, were discussed today. The event, which was held on the ZOOM platform, was attended by the President of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, other representatives of the committee and the Federation of Shooting Sports of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that up to 30 licenses are raffled for this sport at the Tokyo 2020 Games. However, our representatives failed to win tickets to licensed competitions. According to information from the representatives of the federation, only Vadim Skorovarov (shooting with pneumatic weapons) and Alexey Remev (trap) can win licenses issued by the International Shooting Federation for athletes who do not occupy high places (this list includes countries that do not have licenses).
Thus, during the event, the following issues were discussed: the need to consider the composition of the national team, conduct a thorough preparation of our representatives for major international competitions, attract experienced foreign specialists to the coaching staff, purchase modern sports equipment for shooters.
“We need to introduce new methods into this sport. We hope to win only two of the maximum number of licenses. To prevent this from happening on the eve of the Paris 2024 Games, we must start acting now. If necessary, we will attract foreign specialists. To do this, we need to take the bar higher and move towards greater goals. The national idea - the Third Renaissance, put forward by our esteemed President, is also necessary for the sports sector,” said the head of the NOC.
At the end of the event, opinions and suggestions were made regarding the shortcomings noted in the plan during the presentation.
