NGOs to protect children rights in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Non-governmental and non-commercial organizations (NGOs) are one of the most active participants of process on protecting human rights in Uzbekistan.

Currently, several NGOs with the state bodies are actively working in human rights, while several NGOs operate in children rights sector.

The state also supports activity of the NGOs, creating them equal opportunities for participation in public life. This supports include subsidies, grants and social orders, guarantees to NGOs to access information, property protection and business reputation, etc.

NGOs, such as children NGOs, professional unions, public funds, are actively participate in development and implementation of the state and territorial programmes on ensuring rights, freedoms and interests of children. In particular, Fund Forum, Kamolot Public Youth Movement, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Center for studying legal problems, Children Fund, Public Opinion Center, Oila Center, Women’s Committee and others are participating in development and implementation of the National action programme on ensuring well-being of children in Uzbekistan.

Fund Forum makes great contribution to ensuring human rights. The fund organizes such events as Yangi Valod Children Creative Festival, Kelajak Ovozi National Talented Youth Festival, Children Fashion Festival Bolajonlar-Shirintoylar and others. The fund also organized many youth and children projects, including under aegis of UNESCO and UNICEF. The Fund also created Children Sport Complex “Forum Yuniyor Sport”, which currently attracted 100 people, and constructed Chempions’ Forum Sport Complex.

Another active participant of the process is International charity fund Sog’lom Avlod Uchun (For Healthy Generation). The main mission of the fund is to create conditions for developing harmonically developed generation. The fund works on developing and implementing humanitarian, medical, educational programmes, projects on supporting talented youth, promoting health life style, etc.

One of the largest NGOs, working on issues of youth rights, is Public Youth Movement Kamolot. The main direction of its activity is to unite youth, form health and spiritually developed citizens.

Currently, the movement unites over 4.5 million youth at the age of 14-30 and Kamalak Children Movement has over 4 million members.

Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan also conducts huge work in this direction. The committee participates in implementation of the state programmes. It is also attracts children to sports.

All these organizations are also participating in development of national reports to the specialized committees of the United Nations. Currently, Uzbekistan is preparing to submit national report to the UN Committee on human rights. The document will include detailed information on measures, implemented in Uzbekistan in protection of rights and interests of children.
