NGOs attracted to render social services to vulnerable families
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent hosted a roundtable “Attracting NGOs into process of rendering social services to vulnerable services”.

The roundtable included presentations of the participants of the project “Attracting NGOs into process of rendering social services to vulnerable services”, which was organized within the first round of the grant programme on support socially-important regional NGOs of Uzbekistan”, which is held by Fund Forum and Social Initiatives Support Fund.

The event included a presentation of new NGO “Forum of social responsibility of citizens of Uzbekistan”. At the end of the event, chairperson of the trustee fund of Fund Forum Professor Gulnara Karimova handed over certificates for grants to 19 NGOs. The sum of the grant is between 5 million and 15 million soums.

Fund Forum said that it received 80 project applications from NGOs from 26 April to 10 June within the project “Attracting NGOs into process of rendering social services to vulnerable services”. The project organizers are Fund Forum, Social Initiatives Support Fund, UNDP project "Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership", Mahalla Republican Charity Fund and Parliament Commission on Management of resources of Public Fund on support of NGOs and other civil societies.

It was aimed at assisting to strengthen targeted social protection and improving quality of life of socially vulnerable families, as well as rendering medical-social projects.

In the result of considering these projects, the experts selected 19, which are directed at institutional development of NGOs in the regions, support of people and children with limited liabilities, youth and women, etc.

Within the roundtable, participants considered further development of activities of NGOs, which won grants within the project.
