These functions were handed over to NGMK in line with presidential resolution “On measures on further increasing efficiency of organization and conducting exploration works”.

Scientific-production center “Geology of precious metals and uranium” has been created at the NGMK in connection with it.

Senior geologist of NGMK Sergei Rudnev stated that the center started its activity in Navoi city on 1 January 2011 and its branch in Tashkent city.

The center was founded on the base of two liquidated Scientific-production centers – Geology of precious and non-ferrous metals and Geology of uranium and rare-earth metals, which earlier were part of the State Committee of Geology of Uzbekistan.

He said that the resolution also handed over to NGMK such enterprises as Zarmitan hydro geological expedition (HGE), Kyzylkum HGE, Daugyztau HGE, Kokpatas HGE, Zirabulak HGE, and Bukantau HGE. He said the company plans to work in all territory of Uzbekistan, including in Karakalpakstan, Tashkent, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Jizzakh, Bukhara, Samarkand other regions.

Rudnev said that the exploration works programme for 2011 and programme for 2016 have been approved. The main task of new center is to organize and hold exploration works with using of modern experience and new technologies, etc.
