Within the implementation of investment project “Construction of mining-ore complex on the base of deposits at Zarmitan gold ore zone”, the enterprise carries out large-scale works on increasing mining, processing of gold containing ore and organization of production of their base. All forces of the enterprise are directed at creating Hydrometallurgy plant No. 4(GMZ-4) and supporting objects.

NGMK is also working on modernization and reconstruction mines of Mardjanbulak plant along with creation of new production capacities.

Evaluation of reserves of Charmitan, Gujumsay and Promejutochnoye deposits of Zarmitan gold ore zone, conducted in 2005, showed that expediency of construction of mining and processing complex on the base of these deposits. The development of these deposits started a year later.

Yarkin Shakarov, senior engineer of Southern Ore Department of NGMK, said it is planned to master these deposits in three stages. The first stage included expansion and construction of underground pits of Zarmitan, construction of existing Mardjanbulak gold extracting shop with construction of third sorption line and expanding existing tailing dumps.

In the second stage, from 2009, the enterprise constructs underground pit Gujumsay and construction of GMZ-4, where new technologies on enriching gold ores. This will allow to increase production of precious metals at their processing, commission GMZ-4 and ensure development of mining Gujumsay deposit by the end of the year.

Ore processing at GMZ-4 will be carried out with use of technologies, which earlier were not used at the NGMK with increasing gold extracting from ore, mined from Zarmitan gold ore zone.

Works at Gujumsay deposit are also conducted with use of modern equipment and advanced technologies on construction of underground mines. The enterprise creates necessary infrastructures.

In the third stage, Promejutochnoye deposit will be commissioned with increasing ore mining and processing of the production complex to designed capacity.

Currently, NGMK completed construction of objects of Zarmitan ore complex and started to mine ores.

The enterprise also carries out work on rehabilitation of existing vertical pit-shafts with attraction of foreign enterprises – ZUMK-Engineering and Altenkenkazgan.

Over 2,500 people are participating in construction of the object. Mainly they are workers of Chinar Tekhno Tex and Zarafshan Construction Department.
