RIA Novosti reported quoting the source in the Uzbek company that this year the company expensed capacity flotation modules, Kemix adsorption installation, as well as increased use of bio-oxidation technology to process sulfide ores, which are difficult to process.
According to NGMK specialists, implementation of the project will allow to complete construction of BIOX complex. It will also allow NGMK to bring it to full capacity in 2013, which will help to process 5 million tonnes of ore and produce 20 tonnes of gold annually.
The first component of the complex, a hydrometallurgical plant in Uchkuduk (HMP-3) was put into operation in late 2009. It includes a gold processing plant, which uses BIOX technology with a capacity of three million tons of ore a year.
The second component of the complex uses Daugyztau pre-ore concentration technology with a capacity of two million tons per year and was put into operation in late 2010.
NGMK is a major producer of gold and is a monopoly uranium producer in Uzbekistan. Gold production at NGMK in recent years has been at more than 60 tonnes with the total production of the metal in the country at about 90 tonnes. The industrial complex of NGMK includes four metallurgical plants: in Navoi (HMP -1), Zarafshan (HMP -2), Uchkuduk (HMP -3) and Zarmitane (HMP -4, Samarkand region).
