Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 July 2023, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan organized an international conference on the theme "New Uzbekistan: a favorable business environment" in Tashkent. This was reported by the press service of the CCI.

This event, held as part of the week of international partnership initiatives on the theme "New Uzbekistan: progress, innovation and education", was attended by a number of international organizations and business representatives from foreign countries.

The main goal of this event, which is held within the framework of this week, is to discuss the reforms that are being implemented to facilitate doing business, as well as the development of the business environment in New Uzbekistan, to study world experience, its application in practice and exchange views on its effectiveness, to familiarize a wide public with the national mechanism created to protect the rights of entrepreneurs and investors of New Uzbekistan.

At this dialogue event, held on topics such as “Measures and results to improve the business environment” and “National mechanism for the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs”, the content of reforms to improve the business environment in the republic and an analysis of the broad changes in the field in recent years, in addition, the participants of the event received detailed answers to their questions.

In recent years, the Republic of Uzbekistan has been rapidly undergoing a process of important changes in the development of entrepreneurship and business support.

It should be noted that in 2017-2022, a total of 3,087 legislative documents were adopted aimed at improving the business and investment environment.

132 licenses and licensing procedures in the field of entrepreneurship have been cancelled. The practice of requesting 73 documents and certificates from citizens and entrepreneurs by state bodies has been cancelled.

Simplified tax administration, reduced tax burden. Over the past six years, the number of business entities has increased 6 times and today has reached 2 million.

During the pandemic, measures of financial support for entrepreneurs were strengthened, they were provided with loans for 86 trillion rubles. soums, benefits for 33 trillion. soums and other types of assistance.

Commercial banks have allocated loans in the amount of 41.9 trillion. soums more than 54.9 thousand service enterprises in the regions.

In order to support youth entrepreneurship, more than 120 thousand young people were allocated 2 trillion 894 billion soums, more than 233 thousand women were provided with preferential loans for family businesses in the amount of 4.7 trillion soums and they created 200 thousand new jobs.

The issues of business financing, taxation, providing the necessary funds and infrastructure for business entities, simplifying tax and customs administration and strengthening the legal protection of business entities will be systematically continued.
