New Uzbek Ambassador Presents Credentials to the President of Lebanon
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s new Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdusalom Khatamov, accredited with residence in Muscat, presented his credentials to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, according to the Dunyo news agency.
The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Lebanon. During the meeting, Joseph Aoun conveyed his warm greetings and gratitude to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the occasion of the ambassador’s appointment, stressing the importance of further developing bilateral relations.
Prior to the credentials ceremony, Abdusalom Khatamov met with Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yousef Rajji. The Lebanese minister received greetings from Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and was briefed on the reforms and achievements implemented in Uzbekistan over the past eight years.
Abdusalom Khatamov arrived in Muscat as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador on 4 February 2024. The following March, he presented his credentials to Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
