Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The construction of a geotechnological site at the Aktau deposit is provided for by the List of investment projects implemented by the Navoiyuran State Enterprise in order to increase the production and processing of uranium.

The increase in the raw material base of uranium, the increase in its production and processing is provided for by the relevant resolution of the head of state from 14 July  2022.

Aktau is the 20th field of the Navoiyuran State Enterprise, the reserves of which, according to preliminary calculations, are calculated for 15 years. This will be an additional contribution of 1.9 percent to the plant’s total uranium production in 2023. As is known, according to the decree of the head of state, by 2030 the task was set to double the production and processing of uranium raw materials.

About US$2.5 million was disbursed for the implementation of this project. It is important that the same amount of funds will be allocated in the coming year 2023 to launch the second phase of the project, the Navoiyuran information service reports.

This field is promising, since 2021 preliminary pilot work has been underway here, according to their results, Aktau has been recognized as profitable for production.

So, since August 2022, drilling work has begun at the field, where 4 drilling rigs are currently operating. In finished drilled wells, a passive oxidation process is carried out to produce metal. By the end of this year, the number of finished wells will be increased to 25.

The territory of the Aktau ore site is complicated not only by sand dunes, climatic conditions, but also by the depth of the ore, which reaches 500 meters.

At the first stage of the project, 20 jobs were created. It is reported that as soon as the field is launched for a full cycle, another 74 people will be employed.

During the construction of the Aktau mine, special attention was paid to the remoteness of the deposit from the base of the geotechnological mine No. 4, the distance from which is 45 kilometers, from the city of Zarafshan - 60 km and Uchkuduk - 160 km.

A working camp was built at the Aktau field, which includes a modernly equipped canteen for 40 people, a medical office, changing rooms and showers for workers, rooms for spirituality and sports for meaningful leisure, and a summer veranda was built. The territory of the working settlement is being landscaped and landscaped.
