Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan has signed a resolution (No. PP-22 fron 24 January 2024) to establish the Bukhara State Technical University, merging the Bukhara Institute of Engineering and Technology with the Bukhara Institute of Natural Resource Management.

The new university will include an Advanced School of Engineering specializing in oil and gas engineering.

Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the following changes are planned:

• Implementation of an international system for evaluating student performance and teaching effectiveness.
• Sending faculty members and doctoral candidates for internships and advanced training at leading international universities and research institutions.
• Partnering the university with major industrial enterprises as part of its industrial collaboration strategy.

From 1 January 2026, the Bukhara State Technical University will gain academic, organizational, and financial autonomy.
