New Stage of International Volunteer Program “Mission Dobro” Underway in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 8 to 13 September, Uzbekistan is hosting a new stage of the International Volunteer Program “Mission Dobro,” organized by Rossotrudnichestvo in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent City Health Department, and the Samarkand Regional Health Department.

The delegation includes eight doctors from the “RZD-Medicine” clinic network, among them leading specialists in cardiology, urology, oncology, endocrinology, traumatology, and obstetrics and gynecology. This marks their second visit to Uzbekistan: last year the doctors also worked in Tashkent, and three of them had previously joined the 2024 mission.

In Tashkent, the doctors visited nine major clinics, including the Republican Specialized Center of Endocrinology and the Republican Scientific Center of Emergency Medical Care. Their work included 10 high-tech surgeries, 16 lectures, clinical case reviews, and examinations of more than 50 patients with complex diagnoses.

Special attention was given to joint hospital rounds and workshops aimed at sharing expertise and introducing modern treatment methods.

On September 10, a press conference was held at the Russian House in Tashkent, where preliminary results were presented and plans for further work in Samarkand were announced. There, Russian doctors will continue with consultations, surgeries, workshops, and joint medical boards together with Uzbek colleagues.

The “Mission Dobro” program has been implemented by Rossotrudnichestvo and the Dobro.RF Association since 2021. Over this period, 43 missions have been carried out, providing assistance to more than 15,000 people in over 20 countries.

Doctors from “RZD-Medicine” remain actively involved in the project, including missions to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
